CELEBRATING POWERFUL KIDS

After the success of BrowardHeartbeat.org, Beber Silverstein Group and Nobox have once again teamed up to promote health in South Florida. Beber asked Nobox to re-imagine the possibilities of PowerfulKidCare.org, a media-rich children’s health site the two companies launched last year for Chris Evert Children’s Hospital (CECH). This latest campaign introduces the Powerful Kid Contest, an online competition where South Florida children show off their mental and physical prowess through online submissions of pictures, videos and stories. This unique online experience is supported by a fully integrated on and offline media campaign to raise brand awareness for CECH across the region.

“Our challenge was to take an existing site and improve it with a new experience that will get people talking about children’s health,” says Jayson Fittipaldi, President of Nobox. “The contest is fun for the kids, but more importantly we’re educating parents about what a great resource they have in Chris Evert Children’s Hospital.”

The online contest lives on the newly revamped PowerfulKidCare.org – a destination for all things children’s health, from interactive Q&A to in-depth video archives. The site is also home to the new Powerful Parents Club, where parents can sign up to receive hospital perks and great offers from health, lifestyle, entertainment and cultural establishments across South Florida. Membership is free.

The three-phase contest kicked off in April with online nominations. Three contest finalists will be chosen by a panel of six judges that include Chris Evert, media personalities Pam Giganti and Julie Guy, as well as Dr. Rowe-King and Joe Rogers from Broward Health and Kyara Lomer Camarena, Editor of South Florida Parenting Magazine. In May, the public will choose one Grand Prize winner to take home an Extreme Digital Makeover that includes a suite of Mac products and a Wii Fit. A fully integrated media campaign was launched to promote the contest and website, including TV and radio spots, billboards, public relations/events, targeted search marketing, flash banners, and Facebook and twitter support.
