Firefoxcup Launches

Nobox just had another great opportunity to collaborate with our friends at Mozilla on a new creative promotion for Firefox. There are football fans all over the globe wishing they were in South Africa right now, so we are giving them a chance to get in on the World Cup action with the Firefox Cup. With just one click, users can transform their browser into a lean, mean, team-spirited machine, and help their national team to a virtual victory!

Nobox designed the mini-site FirefoxCup.com, as well as 32 browser Personas – each representing a team playing in the 2010 World Cup. A real-time ranking system tracks each Persona by number of users, pitting countries in virtual competition to see which team has the most passionate online fans. The mini-site also include a live feed of World Cup-related tweets, social media tools, and the FootieFox Add-On, which displays live World Cup scores and news.

Nobox designed the campaign to reach across multiple touchpoints beyond the mini-site and browser skins. Other efforts include social media integration, promotional ad banners, a specially designed press kit for the campaign and more. There are four rounds of winners before the overall champion is announced on July 14th, so get in on the Firefox Cup early to boost your team’s chances.
